J-08 Drain
About the project

The J-08 Drain is a drainage project located in Hidalgo County Precinct 4. This system currently commences at the North Main Drain III which is approximately 1/4 mile east of McColl Road and runs west to Ware Road (FM 2220). This system serves several developments and schools in the area. The project consists of the re-excavation and creation of a maintenance bench system on the north side of the existing drain from the North main Drain III to Hoehn Road. HCDD1, through in house engineering staff,  prepared the design plans and performed the construction management and inspection services for the project. The ditch was lowered to allow for the new 54" discharge line which was constructed under the Hoehn area DIP as a rural drainage HCDD1 2012 bond project. The outfall pipe into the North Main Drain III and the crossing of Mon-Mack Road were also improved by this project. HCDD1 conducted all the improvements to the ditch and installation of the outfall pipe through in-house forces. The bench system created by this project will facilitate maintenance and at the same time create more volume in the system.
